Request detail is the first category. It is whatever a quotation cannot be prepared without: your name, company, email address and telephone number; the item, the quantity, the measurement points and the tolerances; the standard required and the turnaround needed.

Technical detail is the second, and it is the ordinary record any web server keeps — IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the pages viewed here.

Payment card details are not collected through this website at all.

Request detail is used to review the request, to obtain a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and to correspond with you about it — and for nothing else. The technical record is used to keep this site available and secure and to see which pages are used.

Selling this information is not part of the arrangement, and neither is renting it, trading it, or supplying it to a third party for that third party to market from.

The laboratory or laboratories asked to quote or to perform the work receive the request detail they need. So do the service providers who host this website, deliver its email and provide its analytics — each of them acting on instructions, and none of them permitted to use the information for its own purposes.

Beyond that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it, or where an accreditation body exercises its right of access to the records of a laboratory that performed work.

Confidentiality covers drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results, on the same basis as the confidentiality obligations that apply to accredited laboratory work. Access is limited to the people who need the material to prepare a quotation or to complete the work.

Any disclosure compelled by law is notified to you once it has been made, unless that notification is itself prohibited.

The cookie use here is narrow: what the site needs to function, and aggregate visit counting where analytics is enabled. Most browsers offer a way to block or delete cookies. Use of this site is not prevented by doing so, although a submitted form may not be recorded correctly afterwards.
