Performance verification, not a claim of new-machine accuracy
A CMM performance verification confirms the machine still meets its stated specification. Testing follows ISO 10360-2, with length measurement error checked at 105 points across five calibrated lengths.
Geometric adjustment and, where the controller allows it, an update to the volumetric error compensation map are completed in the same visit. As-found data is recorded before anything is adjusted.

Built for the audit, not just the machine
Requests are placed with laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Certificates carry a stated measurement uncertainty, a traceability statement, and the environmental conditions recorded at test.
Stampings, forgings and machined driveline components are dimensioned against tight true-position and profile tolerances. A CMM out of specification puts every PPAP submission measured on it in question.

Service areas across Kentucky and the Greater Midwest
Louisville is home base, with on-site coverage reaching Elizabethtown, Columbus, Lexington, Owensboro, Bowling Green and Evansville.
Scheduling is built around a plant's production calendar, since a stopped CMM means a stopped inspection department. Travel is planned to keep that window short.
Why Louisville CMM Calibration and Repair
- 01
As-found before adjustment
Results are recorded before geometric adjustment, so an out-of-tolerance finding can be traced back.
- 02
Accredited certificates
Certificates are issued under the performing laboratory's ISO/IEC 17025 scope, not a generic pass slip.
- 03
On-site or ship-in
Bridge, gantry and cantilever machines are serviced on-site; portable arms and smaller items can ship in.
- 04
IATF-aware scheduling
Visits are planned around PPAP deadlines and supplier audit windows, not the other way round.

Common questions
How often should a CMM be calibrated in an automotive supplier plant?
Most IATF 16949 quality systems run an annual interval, tightened for machines feeding PPAP submissions or running high part volumes. The basis for the interval is documented, not assumed.
What does ISO 10360-2 actually test?
Length measurement error, E0 and E150, measured at five calibrated lengths in seven positions and orientations, three repeats each, for 105 measurements against the stated MPE.
Can calibration be done on-site at our plant?
Bridge, gantry and cantilever CMMs are typically calibrated on-site. Portable arms and gage families can be sent in where shop conditions do not support testing.
